HELP! HD won't install... Posted this at the DUC, as well, but thought I'd try here: Trying this afternoon to install new HD2 system and about 75% of the way through the installation, the script stops and it says there was an error in installation, and to please try again. Well, I tried again. Four times. Same thing. ANYONE experience this? Is the install disc screwy, or the cards, or what? Technical information: Installing 7.4, new out of the box. HD2 Accel. System is Mac Pro Quad Core 2.66 5 Gig RAM Running OS10.4.11 (Tiger) Apogee AD/DA-16x converters with X-HD cards I've checked the troubleshooting link. Repaired disk permissions on the boot drive. Disabled all non-essential stuff recommended by Digi (Spotlight, Bluetooth, etc.) No known compatibility issues with my operating system or other software. PCIe cards are recognized by the computer (though they aren't "known" as PT cards yet; I presume because the software isn't loaded yet). Still not working. A bad install DVD perhaps? Gotta say: This is annoying as hell: Days of assembling hardware, running cable, etc., and now the simplest part of getting the studio running—the software install—won't work. ANYONE experience this? Is the install disc screwy, or the cards, or what? Help! Thanks.

10.4.11 is not offically supported Compatibility Alert — Mac OS X 10.4.9/10.4.10/10.4.11 Mac OS X 10.4 (and Other Apple Software Updates) & Pro Tools Launch Failure/Bouncing Icon in Dock Although Mac OS X 10.4.10 and 10.4.11 have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, the only known issue at this time has to do with Pro Tools failure to launch in some cases due to improper prebinding.

Yes—I'd seen that. But it seems the only issue noted can be fixed with the "pre-binding" application, which I ran, and it didn't find any problems. Anyone out there running 10.4.11? If not, how do I "get back" to 10.4.9 or 10? Any thoughts? Thanks.
