"VST Audio System, Device Failed to Open!"
Hardware/Software:
MacBook Pro, fresh install of Leopard 10.5.2, Fresh install of Cubase 4 with update 4.1.3.

The Problem:
Cubase 4 won't playback audio?! It won't recognize Core Audio/System Audio?

Devices-->Device Setup, where you select your audio driver it reads:

"VST Audio System
Device Failed to Open!"

All my other audio apps work fine, including Cubase 4Ai.

Anyone?

I need to do some remote recording this weekend, any HELP IS APPRECIATED.

Someone answer this guy's question!!!
I have the same problem
the asio drivers are recognized and installed correctly. I get signal into the computer. Vista recognizes it, But cubase is not recognizing any drivers
under VST audio system, it just reads "device failed to open"

any help?

Try updating Cubase.
