Arrow Reaper: can you master your stereo mixes from it's arrange window like Samp?

Hello,

Reaper Users:

Can you drop your Stereo final mixes into a fresh arrange window and place them in the timeline to play back just like you would want the finished CD to and then drop the auto markers globally in place to determine where tracks begin and end and then go right to burning a Master disc from the arrange window?

Samplitude does this with great ease but Samplitude has far too many issues and bugs for me so I want to switch to Reaper but I like this feature and need to master from Reaper.

Also, does Reaper have a good set of built in plug-ins for mastering like a good phase coherent equalizer?

What about a great mastering limiter for maximizing the loudness that would be comparable to Samplitude's built in plug or the Waves L2?

And does Reaper have Pow'r dithering? If not, what kind of dither and sample rate conversion does it have for final mixes and does it sound as good as Samplitude's built in processing effects?

Why not use Samplitude for mastering only. I use Cubase4 but still use Samplitude7 to arrange cd tracks since it's such a no brainer.

If only there was a place where you could ask the company directly, or even just ask a bunch of experienced users...

But alas, there's not.

alex.
to answer your questions.
yes you can drop your stereo master mixes into
the main arrange do that. ive done it many times.
also supports markers.
so you can jump tween mixes n add plug ins to mixes,
eg getting all mixes around the same average level.
a tip....bring each mix into a seperate track.
this way in the tcp each trak has the mix name.
and each trak can have one or more plugs...
either reapers or third parties.
there is also an interesting utility from a reaper user
to do added stuff for cd burning. (consult the cockos forums.)
ive even burnt direct to mp3.
ive also edited masters. ton of work.
look in the reaper plug ins list (over 100.) and youll see various mastering plug ins.
best bet is to bring up each one and see its effect on a mix.
its all there for both tracking and mastering imho.
theres even a MS plug in if i remember.

ps..also check out the dither n psycho dither plug ins in reaper.
psych = psycho acoustic noise shapeing.
also check out stillwellaudio.com.
heres more info on psycho dither......
interesting stuff.

Arrow

Can reaper automatically drop markers on the top and tail of trakcs you drag into the arrange window?

Can Reaper then burn a CD from those tracks with the markers dictating where the songs begin and end?

What kind of dithering does Reaper use in the CD burning process?

alex.
i drop markers anywhere i want.
youll accomplish a lot more if you just try it mate,
its a blinkin quik download n install.
depending on your hi speed connection.
bout a couple of minutes to dload n install n be up n running.
then you can assess how much it meets your needs.
download the manual also from cockos site.
ton of info that will save me typing.

ps...forgot to mention.
on the cockos forum look for art evans utility called Reaburn.
heres the manual for reaper.
Reaper Documentation - CockosWiki
and heres about rendering/creating audio cd image.
. Render - CockosWiki

page down...notice the audio cd image option in the render ?

alex if your serious bout reaper theres a whole forum of users at cockos as well as real time chat.
