Question Amplitube 2 or Amplitube Jimi Hendrix?

Getting one of these as part of the buy one get one free IK promotion.

The reason it has to be one of these two is that I literally own every other IK plugin that they're offering.

So - being that I already have Guitar Rig 3, is there too much crossover with that & Amplitube 2? Should I get JH then instead for some of the more obscure vintage effects?

JH is worth slightly less, so it would be cheaper to buy in the future should I decide I needed it someday (I doubt I will, I'm weaning myself off of guitar amp plugins with my blues jr and an sm57).

My instincts are telling me JH, but if there's something I'm missing by all means pipe up!

Man, you're in a tough position seeing that you're try to get away from amp sims. I only have CSR from the offer, don't need T-racks, so I'm choosing between Amplitube2, JH, and the Ampeg SVX. I'm leaning towards the Ampeg. In your case, I'd say in general Guitar Rig 3 has gotten less favorable reviews than Amplitube2, so maybe that's your best choice.

Good luck.

indeed!

part of my problem here is that the one effect that I'd like a decent model of is the univibe, which I'm not sure AT2 has, but JH does... which is why I'm leaning that way...

I think JH sounds a little better, but 2 is definitely more flexible...

I have tried them both extensively, and prefer the non-Hendrix. The Hendrix is much more genre-focussed if you'd ask me, which is logical of course. The non-Hendrix is way more flexible. However, I believe IK recently released X-Gear, which makes it possible to combine any pedal/amp/whatever to make your personal setup. So that way you can use non-Hendrix amp with say a Hendrix pedal.
