At the moment IK Multimedia CSR, the plate. Sonnox Reverb is awesome as well. I keep sticking with CSR though.

Indeed.
So I vote again

Very happy with CSR
I just wish it would one day become multichannel able for surround.

I voted for the UAD Plate 140, simply because it's out of this world. However, I own CSR and love it to bits also.

With regards to convolution reverbs, I had IR-1, but got rid of it after trying SIR -it does all I need.

LOVE the reverbs!!

I've really been digging the Wave Arts Masterverb lately... it's a bit stiff sounding when solo-ed but in a mix it really shines.

I have UAD-1 Plate and IK CSR both.
Mostly I prefer to use CSR. :)

Hello,

I want to buy a new reverb but I hesitate between the new BREVERB and CSR. Which is the best ?

Cheers,
Vincent

well it's currently 22 to 8 in favour of CSR however CSR has been around for quite a while now and is quite established in the community. i prefer Breverb but judging by the above you definitely can't go wrong with CSR

Thank you but Breverb is newer than CSR.
I suppose that there are more people who use CSR and therefore the scores are in favour of CSR, no ?

IR-1/IR-L is quite nice. With convolutions, the quality of the IR files seems to be a big issue as well. They provide (for like $10) a couple CDs of high quality 24/96 IR files. They have a couple of Plate 140 IRs that I use quite a bit for long plates. But they also have some great 'bombastic' plates for vocals, drums, snare, guitar, etc... that are very nice, and of course a lot of real spaces, which I haven't really played with a lot.

EQ'ing your reverb busses can make all the difference as well.

I have the IR-L but not tested yet.
I'm waiting for the DVD with the sounds.

I've tried everything on the list in one way or another: demo, owning (way more than I should!), and hearing friends' stuff. After hearing some VSS3 IRs playing through Altiverb, I had to get a Powercore Compact and VSS3. It's in a whole different league from the rest. I think you can get a PCIcard/VSS3 combo at sweetwater for 800 bucks or so. VSS3 is what I've been seeking since I started doing DAW audio. I wish I'd know about it before I bought the rest of that stuff.

I like Reflect better, but I also use MV, and agree with what you say about it.

I demoed both along with Reflect and bought Reflect. All 3 did a 'verb's basic job and sounded more like hardware than a plug-in. Breverb's tails seemed kind of loopy and CSR's were more ringy. Reflect has the smoothest tails I've heard in a plug-in.

That said, I may get CSR on the promotion IK is running:

IK Multimedia

The cheapest way in is to get the Miroslav Philharmonik Classik Edition ($185 at AudioMidi), and the way I read it, you can get CSR for free! But, I don't need MPCE or CSR, for that matter.

Sometimes you just have to buy stuff because it's a good deal, right?

I really like Altiverb, but it's kinda stiff to use. I ended up using IR which is very nice in short verbs. I don't like it for long tails, prefer Breverb, which suits me better than CSR. I really like CSR for the classic sound.

The thing I like about CSR is it doesn't kill my cpu.

Oh, and what Coyoteus said... The price is right!

Altiverb is cool, but it kind of kills my processor.

So my vote goes for CSR.

Perfect Space is also quite nice. It is actually Pristine Space if you get it from Voxengo. Nice convolution verb.

Man, I'm really wanting to go for this again. $185 is a killer deal for Miroslav Philharmonik Classik Edition and CSR, right?

(dang it Unkle Fred, I'd already talked myself out of it... )

My favorite choice are not on the list. TL Space and Revibe. Sonnox is in third but on the list.

Do you know where i can get some good cd or dvd's with ir convolutions for for my waves IRL

My faverate reverb for drums is timeworks 4080L I did buy 4081L but it has issues with cubase sx 3 & does not save settings with the project... They was going to do a fix but i heard nothing & now they ignore my emails... Bit annoying as ive spend money on nothing. Im not shure what the overall sound of the plugin is. I think its just like a room reverb. I tend to be able to make my drums sound like there in a lush room or plate type reverb for vocals. Thanks

Russ
