Recording Audio. Internal or external?

I have a Dual 2.5gig G5. I have read that internal SATA drives are faster for recording than Firewire drives. I need a new recording drive. Should I go internal or external? Does anyone have an internal drive they record to? Or is everyone recording on an external?

I record to internal drives if there is an internal drive to record to. It is faster, you won't regret it.

sata for the speed and reliability
if you have an extra slot you could get an esata card but then you would need a good and stable sata external with esata connections

I have 2 bays. One is being used by the system drive and the other is empty. So I would just stay internal. When you say slot you are referring to a pci slot, right?
