Can I get more than one MIDI channel active from one sampler insert?

Other than it playing the same part as MIDI channel 1....

Is it a case of inserting a fresh sampler for each MIDI channel?

thanks

Yes you can..

In the Environment:
You have to set the instrument channel's midi settings to "all".

Then create a "multi instrument".

Patch the multi instrument into the audio instrument channel the sampler is on.

Enable the channels you would like to use by unticking the appropriate box in the multi instrument.

Now get as many instances of the multi instrument to appear in the arrange as you need. This is done by first choosing a blank slot in the arrange (all the way at the bottom left), then clicking the multi instrument with that midi looking tool in the environment. It should now appear in that slot in the arrange.

Now, in the arrange set each multi instrument instance to the midi channel you want sent to the sampler.

Rename the multi instrument to something more easy to recognize if you feel like it...

I know it sounds like an insane amount of work --- but it only takes about 15 seconds once you get it down....

Take a look at some of my older tutorials here for some more in depth environment tutorials... there are pertty pictures toooo...

Cheers!
