How to get the lowest possible latency with an E drum kit/PTHD?

I'm getting my home, project studio set up and recently bought an RET Percussion kit, an Alesis Trigger i/o and BFD2 to hopefully, and I mean HOPEFULLY, be able to have session drummers come here for drum tracking for songs I'm working on. My recording platform is Pro Tools HD3 on PC, which I'm afraid may not be the best platform for doing the drum tracking thing due to latency. The lowest I can set the buffer for the playback engine is 128 samples and I'm sure you know that's too much for a drummer to work with. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that in terms of real-time monitoring with the 192.
What I'm asking for here is some advice on what would be the absolute best set up for me to have so a drummer can play along with my Pro Tools session while recording the midi and monitoring via BFD2 in stand alone format?
I downloaded the most recent asio drivers, but my only audio interface is my Digidesign hardware, which is useless, to my knowledge, for anything other than PT. The drivers do me no good if I can't get the audio out of the computer to monitor.
With my current set up, what would you recommend I do or get to have, say, less than 10ms of latency so a drummer can have it feel right when tracking? I'm talking both software and hardware. Is there a reasonably inexpensive hardware/software combo that will give me super low latency for monitoring a drum performance in real time?
This is kind of a new area for me to deal with so I appreciate any tips you can give me any tips or workarounds for good performance.
Also, if there's anyone here using PTHD and an e drum kit for tracking, I'd love to hear about your set up, the latency numbers you're getting and any recommendations.

thanks in advance,
Steve
