mpc 1000 to logic 8

please help me i realize this is very basic stuff and im dumb but can someone please explain to me how to connect my mpc 1000 to logic pro 8 step by step.at the moment i have an mpc 1000 (i listen to it through headphones) i have logic pro 8 (i listen to it through my internal speakers on my laptop) i have an edirol interface and all cables needed.ive plugged the out of the interface to in 1 on the mpc,what else do i do i can control my mpc by pressing play in logic but no sound comes through my laptop internal speakers,please,please help
