Chord Memory

So I'm not the greatest keyboardist. I'm practicing, but in the meantime, I would really like to play my chords quicker so that I can concentrate on the performance rather than my fingering on the board. I was at GC a little while back and I got a chance to play the Korg M3. It has this feature that allows the user to save the chord they are playing and assign it to one of it's pads. I have been looking for a plugin that accomplishes pretty much the same thing, allowing me to assign chords and trigger them with whatever I want, be it one key on my keyboard, a pad, or any other midi controller. I haven't been able to find one on the internet, for free or for sale. Does anyone know of a plugin like this?
Thanks,
Zane

What DAW host are you using? Most will not let you have a MIDI in-MIDI out plug-in. If I am understanding correctly, you would like to input midi into the plug-in and then have it spit out that midi at a later time, right? A virtual instrument will come later in the chain?

If you happen to be using Digital Performer, you are in luck! I know this from experience because I designed a plug-in that does exactly what you're talking about. Problem is, DP is the only host I could find that supports this functionality (there also may be a workaround in Ableton Live.)

You didn't tell us what synth and or program you are using.

If you are using Logic there is a Chord Memorizer Object that is easy to set up in the Environment.

Sorry. I'm getting more into ableton now (I usually use pro tools, but the midi in that is gettting annoying) and I have been fooling around with cubase as well.
