While we're at it, I also did a test variation by now recording to each DAW's stereo channel instead of bouncing to disk. They also cancelled out.

So you recorded via analogue the same mix on DP, then on PT and it cancelled again?

Wow, I feel better now, because I mainly work this way, I convert to analogue from my DP via DA16x and mix on my Duality, and I was wondering if maybe protools sounded better in this scenario. Your new test confirms that both sound the same.

THANK YOU AGAIN OROZ, YOU ARE THE MAN!!

I sent all track's output to BUS 1-2 on both systems and recorded the mix to a new stereo track (Input BUS 1-2 obviously ).

You're welcome .
Can you make this test 100% ANALOGUE coming out from your interface an then back it to a stereo channel?

Thanks.

Thats what I do too, I love to record with the DP, but mix down etc I do in Logic, far better sounding, far better (standard) plugins. In DP you better use 3rd party plug ins, as the standard ones are just "basic" in quality (good looking though)

delcosmos,
curious why you use hi passes on every channel?

also, i know that nulling is scientifically valid, but how do you guys explain the guys who are picking dp out of a lineup consistently as an earlier post-er said he could?
