| Gear addict | Whats everyones favorite reverb plug for drums?
I've been struggling to find a plug-in i really like on drums. I've been using waves IR-1 lately-- but it just isn't really working well. I love it for other stuff just not drums. Anyone have a suggestion of a convolution that comes on the waves dvd they really like? I also end up using space designer, true verb, and rverb sometimes with mixed success. Thanks in advance, Jeremy |

![]() But I don't know how many you can install CSR to your PCs. I think 1 license is for 1 PC. That's why I like to use iLok protection.... it's easy to move/switch to other environment... most people doesn't like it though.

+1 for CSR Room. I think as long as you have the right codes, you can put it on anything you want. IK keeps track of your digital ID and authorization codes and you can request a certain number of new ones. Cheers. Steve

audio damage reverance is a good reverb. It's really versatile and has a good sound. ps. I never use convolution style verbs (ie. waves, altiverb) on drums. |

Wow! I'm impressed. I've never herd the CSR. I've never even heard OF it. I normally don't like ITB reverbs. That said I use the UAD 140 Plate all the time and I LOVE Altiverb. What's the sonic difference with CSR that distinguishes, or makes it better? I know we're talking for drums only here . . .

Although I really like CSR too, I've not really experimented with the rooms on that - my computer can just about run 2 convo verbs plus an R-Verb before it falls over, so waiting for the Mac Pro before I start experimenting more!

I'm still using TLSpace for drums. I'm probably noob, I find using CSR vs TLSpace ain't that much difference at all. Moreover, TLSpace actually give me more 3D space than CSR, which I find a little "too behind" sounding. Same goes to breverb, kind flast sounding IMHO. Tried altiverb 5 in other studio once, still favour for TLSpace. It's free with Music Production Toolkit, so I saved quite a bit. I'm mainly a composer/arranger, though. |

Those plugin has different touch and can't decide only one! CSR can be set more configuration than Plate140, so it's very controllable reverb effector. Plate140 has already concrete character. First, I just insert Plate140 and then if I want to customize its character, I'll switch to CSR.

I agree on the CSR Plate - I use it on alot of things and think its a great verb. I have TLSpace, Altiverb, IR-1, Rverb - they are all nice. Even Dverb has a place.. But CSR works well with me for pretty much most things. Very configurable as well. Tim.. |

Does anything come close to a 15 year old Lexicon hardware unit? I've been using IR based reverbs recently which sound great and realistic when solo'd. I was listening to some 10 year l'd recordings I did with a PCM90 and they just sounded more "alive" for lack of a better word. Even stuff done with an MPX100 ($200 hardware unit) sounded great. |

I like to use the rooms and some of the concer halls in Altiverb, if I don't use a Lexicon.

I'm similar. I use my PCM 91, and or a UAD 140 plate, or Altiverb. I didn't have Altiverb for a long time. I just got it again, so it's just returning to my workflow.

CSR Plate is also very good, I like the Mono Plate setting. I will normally use CSR Room on a drum bus or OH's but I'm only ever putting reverb on snares and toms lately, for which I like a diffused sounding room. - sounds quite natural. TL Space is harder work. |

I don't think I've found any digital verb that I can say I've liked on drums. I try and use a real room whenever possible

One more for CSR. I actually layer the room and plate on certain sources via sends. It sounds great.

| Gear addict | I just purchased reverence today and I'm really into it--thanks for the suggestion. Its way smoother on drums than anything convolution or even the csr.
