Angry Digi(?) bids on their own ebay items?

i couldn't find another thread about this.
and i'm sure i can't be the only one who's noticed this.
i'm looking to purchase a digi 002. i keep running across (and getting outbid by) ebay user names with the same format.
follow me on this one...
j***l
c***m
etc
it's always a letter, three asterisks, and then another letter.
this user with several user names always drives the price way up on everything digi!
is this someone hired by digi trying to put a false value on their items?
if a used 002 is almost as much as a new 003 maybe
all those interested would just buy a new one.
is this practice legal?
maybe it's not digi at all, but a third party mod company getting extra parts or something?
anyone else experience this peculiar ebay phenomenon?
anybody?

I'm just guessing, but it seems more likely that it would be a company that sells used gear. I mean, if Digi were bidding on it and they won they'd have to pay for it.

I think that's just the new ebay protection system for protecting ebay usernames.

I'm late to the party, but yes this is an ebay feature to protect bidders identity.
