| No PLAY SO! So how much RAM for Mac Pro? I was considering buying a Mac Pro 3.2GHz with 16GB, īcause I though East Westīs Play Symphonic Orchestra would have been released in 2008 quarter 1. But I found Doug Rogers saying in the other "East West Leopard"-thread, that it will be released in quarter 2. This is a major setback!!! This ruins all my plans and hopes to compose huge orchestrations with just one machine (Mac Pro), without PC slavefarm hassle. Iīm betting it will be June 30. earliest when this is released or maybe even delayed more (yes Iīm pessimist). Just a bunch of hype since last autumn that it is "coming soon". My arse! ![]() I wouldnīt want to waste any time and wait for the release. But Iīd hate to go the PC slave FXTeleport road, especially when my mindset was already moving to Mac world. I also did many weeks of Mac research, so there wouldnīt be any "suprises". That would be now wasted time also, if I would contiune in the PC world. Everything was looking bright, but damn I trusted East West too much, that they would have delivered the goods in quarter 1, stupid me! But hell, it was announced early Autumn 2007 or even sooner, canīt remember when exactly. Many people weīre actually expecting it for Christmass 2007... then January... but now June 30. could be a possibility. Aaaaaaaaaaargh!!!But the main thing for this topic was to ask that if a buy Mac Pro, letīs say with 16GB RAM memory. Can I use at least 4GB in Cubase 4.1.2? That could help out me littlebit for now... Right now my PC has 1,3GB RAM for the VSTis, altough my PC has 4GB RAM installed. Iīve tried every trick and tweak out there to get more of it available, but no success. The available memory shows 2GB after reboot and Cubase canīt load any more instruments when the available memory hits 700MB. (This could be a bug too in Cubase, some other people at the Cubase forum is saying the same thing). So if Mac can get 4GB in Cubase for the instruments, I might still go that road and struggle for a while with Kontakt 2.2.4 and EWQLSO, until the PLAY SO comes... So anyones got any info on this? Can you load 4GBs worth of instruments in Mac Pro / Leopard / Cubase 4.1.2 setup? |
