Exciter / Analog Channel/Tape-Emulation Plug in for Mac OSX needed

Hello,

i'm searching for an Exciter and a Analog Channel or Tape Emulation Plug In for Mac OSX. Best it would be freeware. I found some Plug In in the Internet but they're all for Windows. Maybe you know a plug in or a site which offers freeware mac osx Plug ins.

I don't know of any good freeware for mac. All for PC. Virsyn VTape is my favorite tape emulation plugin. The URS Channel Strip Pro is a killer strip. Neither are free, but well worth the money.

Thanks,

Airwindows is a good idea, the Mc DSP Stuff is even as education bundle too expensive...

you've not stated what program(s) you're using. When some plugins are only AU or only RTAS, it makes it a bit difficult to recommend anything.

+1

MCDSP Compressor Bank 3 has some useful Exciter presets. It really has quite a few tricks up it sleeve that plug does.

MCDSP Analog Channel 1 is "the" analog channel in the virtual domain. Great for subtle saturation to adding some pleasant harmonic distortion.

MCDSP Analog Channel 2 is a good place to start for some "tape" saturation. You can also look at DUY's DAD Tape and the Digidesign also has a nice Tape Saturation Plug.

For value for money the Emerald Pack from MCDSP does it for me. You get an amazing set of tools for your money. You can download the demos from McDSP - McDowell Signal Processing, LLC

Also for fun check out the Sound Toys plugins. Some feature one of the best saturation sections I ever heard on plugs. Really wish Sound Toys would release a dedicated saturation plug. It would rock.
