MachFive v.2 and giga libraries

Is anyone running Mach5 version 2.x and loading Gigastudio libraries? I gave up on M5 v1 a long time ago, but with the new version streaming Giga libraries, I'm thinking of giving it a try again. If you're using it - what are you running it as AU, RTAS, ???

Thx.

Yup, what do you want to know? Running L8 and PTLE.

How reliable is M5v.2? Many Crashes? I'm guessing that you're running RTAS in PTLE, right? Stable? Is there a process of translating the Giga files over so that Mach5 can read them or do they just load right up? How is the "formatting" in M5 vs. Giga. Filters and envelopes OK? How about presets with keyswitching? Does M5 make it so you don't feel the loss of a PC running Gigastudio with a large library? You know, all the stuff?

Thanks! I'm a mac guy and run mostly DP when writing and PT when in production. If I could open a giga sound here or there it would be nice. Right now I have 4 or 5 GS setups on PC's of various vintages and it's a job to keep them all happy and running.

Thanks for any answers you can give.

I know this isn't direct help, as I've never used MachFive...but, I've imported giga libs into both Kontakt and EXS24...the EXS24 stayed much truer to the original (I have and have used Giga for years). Kontakt's import was laughable. The EXS still wasn't as nice on some libs as Giga...but, I would consider it a worthy replacement. Now that it comes with a $500 LogicPro...sheesh...I don't know why anyone would bother with anything else.

...that said, most giga libs have been bettered with other software instruments, IMO. So, unless you already own a lot of them...you're better off spending money on new instruments, IMO.
