Thread Starter | Going to MBP: Duende or native ?
For a host of reasons my next upgrade will be to MBP. This will give me the flexibility to have 23" at main desk and 15 or 17" while mobile. Running Logic 8 and my plugs are so far AU Native. Looking for that one killer channel strip. Love the idea of having SSL right there ITB. Would prefer to go Duende over Waves if I can. However.... I already have Motu Traveller, FW HD01 for Audio, FW HD02 for sample streaming. That is (3) FW already off of a single bus and that is pushing it. Ok so I go the PC express34 route and in doing so add another bus. I am assuming that I will be ok for adding a Dunde Mini ? It wants it's own bus so I will give it one. Is the Duende to be avoided as a general principle with a laptop, however powerful ? If so I could go the Waves route I suppose. I would rather not, although as I say that, those plugs are native and thus truly portable. Speaking of portable, although the Duende can be buss powered - so is everything else - and that thins out after a while. Anyone doing the portable thing sucessfully. Advise always appreciated .... |

duende is the shit. you have to check your firewire chipset first, to avoid incompatilbility.
