Building computer 1st time need help Gearslutz please

i'm looking at building a new pc for recording. never done it before,..am sure to make some mistakes, but maybe with the help of some gear slutz i won't make too many.....haven't picked out the recording software yet, narrowed the dac down to a rme multiface, or a fireface400/800,...or maybe the digidesign 002....

i put together a list of items for the computer, wondering what ya'll think of the choices,...what you would do differently? what recording software and dac you would pair with this computer ? are there any glaring mismatches? or incompatibility issues with my potential dac's and the hardware i'm thinking about choosing? thanks a bunch GS's

does anyone know if the motherboard/processor/hard drive will work with a digidesign 002 factory bundle rack?

do you know if it would work with a multifaceII or the fireface 400/800?

i have tried to compare requirements on the digidesign website and rme website, but am not very experienced and am having trouble

thanks guys

all those interfaces require firewire 400 or 800. exept for the multifaceII which requires i think is regular pci slots. does your motherboard have pci slots?

there is pci slots, pci-X and pci-e. that about the only thing u need to check.

and if u are going for the others u only need firewire 400 or 800 on the computer. can be in the computer motherboard or can be added later as a firewire card.

You should look into a Q6600 and intel setup....double the power and you'll be set for a few years.
