Recording with a pc, what's my weak link?

Hi - I have a PC computer specced out that I am planning on purchasing, but I wanted anyone out there with vast computer/music knowledge to tell me where my bottleneck is!! Here goes:
2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with Dual Core Technology
Win XP Professional
Intel Motherboard w/ G965 Chipset
4GB of 800MHz DDR2 memory
SATA DVD Burner 18/x with lightscribe
Western Digital 500GB Serial ATA Harddrive
Any one of these going to massively slowdown the other?
Thanks,
Jon

Looks good to me. You should definitely add another hard drive for your audio though.

make sure you get the fastest ram speed available for your mobo. After that, you might want to consider raid0, with two hard drives for faster system speed.

After that, your cpu will prolly be the main factor.

HI,
drop the 965 get the P35 chipset
IDE DVD-RW not Sata
CL4 not CL5 on the DDR2 800.
550W power supply name brand not some generic piece of poo.
(thermaltake, Seasonic, OCZ, Antec (certain ones)
a much smaller drive for your OS, use the 500G for audio only

consider 2.4G Quad instead of duo, unless you do alot of sampling

so what's the added advantage with 550w over 300w for audio?

nat.
re power.
ive seen it many times where people put in a wimpy supply then start adding lots
of upgrades /new devicesto their pc....n then they wonder why they get intermittent probs.
its called erring on the side of caution.
