| Color. although different colors, is back in Giant Bar and Smpte Displays. And those of you who want to not see the Transport in the Consolidated Arrange window can now hide it. Also while the Audio Con figuration window is not back the ability to copy and paste it is. The bug wherein you lose a click while Punching on the Fly with Record Toggle is fixed.

Yep, it's there. Although, at the moment you must use the Software Update app. (104mb!) The [vague] Software Update release notes: This Logic Pro 8.0.1 update addresses specific customer issues and compatibility issues of Logic Pro 8.0 and WaveBurner 1.5. This update is recommended for all Logic Studio users. For more information about this release, please go to: Late Breaking News If you are using Logic Node you will need to update your Logic Node application on connected computers as well. After running this updater you will find an updated Logic Node installer called Logic Node 8.0.1.dmg in your Utilities folder. |

And this from the XLN website re:Addictive Drums and the new Logic 8.0.1: "- Logic: Update to the latest the latest version of Addictive Drums (v1.1.1) for full functionality in Logic 8. Please note that stereo outputs does not work in Logic 8 on G4/G5, this will be fixed in the coming Logic 8.01 update."

CPU usage in 8.0.1 seems to be even worse than in 8.0.0 here on the 8 core, a song that played fine with 128 sample buffer now wont even move the playhead before stopping and can only play with a minimum 512 samples. Though I've heard it's better for others on 4core. Exactly the same issues as I posted (with pictures) in an earlier thread (only now somehow worse). No idea about the other bugs. |

I thought I'd be the first to post on 8.0.1 but not to be.... Anywayz looking good so far Transport removable, lasso tracks in the track mixer and better handling, Audio config on it's way back, solo'ed objects highlighted.... Also some major issues with the channel strip updating when changing tracks is fixed |

People working with both Logic and Pro Tools will be happy to see split stereo files back. |

import sssion data would be cool if for example you have synth line with chopped up audio and effects in a song with 40 other tracks. but you wanna try someting that stems from that, so you import session data from only that track into another and try difrent things in a new session. and a step firther, you know you have difrent takes of difrent sound desgin elemnts in other songs so you import that w/0 opening that song. of course the work around would be to create another dupliicate track and bounce down , find the audio and import it and see where it goes, match what u are doing , etc etc. for music the audiosuite. and beat detective. amd a cool and fast way to lean midi controllers like in ableon live. and a better arp.

The Late breaking news doc is updated now. It's a little misleading at first because the title of the document says "8.0" but when you open it all the info on 8.01 is right there. |

Hello Logic Lovers, I've got some good news for you, I think. Apple has now given us the ability to create the AlphaTrack control plug-in for Logic ourselves. (Techno-speak: they have released the Logic control surface SDK to us.) Additionally, they had started an AlphaTrack plug-in themselves (as many of you have experienced in Logic Pro 8.0) and have shared that code with us. What does this mean? Well, the bad news is that they have a very powerful SDK, and there is a bunch of code for us to learn. The good news is that they have a very powerful SDK and much of the AlphaTrack plug-in code is already in place and we can charge ahead and make this happen ourselves. Our thanks to Apple for making this happen. Our thanks to you all for your patience. And keep tuned for more news on this, soon we hope. CharlieH AND THIS______________________ Hello Everyone, We know the number one question now is "WHEN?", and we very much appreciate the anticipation. It is too soon for us to give you a date yet because we have a fair amount of code to struggle through. As Charlie said above, the Logic interface is not like any other we have ever worked with. It is very powerful but very complicated at the same time. That being said, it is our number one controller coding project at the moment. We are making significant strides with it, and hope to put put smiles on all of your faces very soon. I won't say 'hang in there' because I already got burned for saying that once. I will only say that we are now making marked progress daily towards our goal. To answer Switchcraft's question, no, I do not believe it will be necessary to wait for a Logic update as we can include instructions for you to manually replace the plug-in within Logic with ours. CS AN THIS___________________________ Hi Folks, Just thought I'd give you a quick update. Apple had a real good start on the AlphaTrack/Logic plug-in. I now feel like I understand the bulk of their SDK and their plug-in code ... who knows if I'll ever understand all of it? They have some truly talented and intense software engineers! Some problems have been fixed. The motorized fader is now fully working in both directions (to and from the app). The touch strip currently does one finger timeline scrolling (with shuttling at the strip ends), two finger shuttling, and left/right tap for prev/next marker navigation. And the AUTO WRITE/READ LED's now properly reflect the track's automation mode. I'm now on to improving the encoder/LCD display functions, trying to add some "touch-sensitive goodness" to the operation. To get the touch strip to operate well with Logic, we did have to define a new "Logic" control protocol. This is not an emulation of another control surface. Rather, it is a slightly modified Native protocol the sends the touch strip messages differently, in a way that is compatible with the Logic control surface SDK. So there will be a new driver that is to be used in conjunction with the AlphaTrack/Logic plug-in. FYI. Otherwise, we have a track selection issue to resolve, some more touch-sensitive display goodness to add, some default button operations to set, and installer work ... and then we should be ready for some beta test action. If you're interested, do let us know. So far, so good. CharlieH

Is it just on my end or do legacy rewire objects open up with channels that do not stream? Reason specifically. I have to create new rewire aux objects to initiate audio streaming and cmd drag plugs from dead rewire channels to new functioning ones from 8 to 8.0.1. MBP 2.4 4GB OS 10.4.11 Logic 8.0.1 This session was started on Logic 7.2. On Logic 8 OS 10.4.10 this bug was not present, same session started in 7 10.4.9 was continued in 8 10.4.10. Update OS and Logic = rewire objects turn into objects with grayed out input options in Inspector. fuuck
