Thread Starter | Other than a like or dislike for the companies... Any input on who is liking which program and why? Integration into Pro Tools and ease-of-use being a key factor (of course sound too) (I seem to constantly be looking at which is right for me, love to hear your thoughts) Thanksthumbsup -a ![]() |

| Gear Head | I've found Melodyne to be an amazing tool. The approach to the entire editing scheme is very impressive and easy to use. The modulation function is very cool to work with as well and see it represented visually. Melodyne is a must! |

| Melodyne has made my life much easier. At work I can use Melodyne Uno for ReWiring and spotting directly back into ProTools. At home I can sit in front of the fire and tune vocals (or anything really) on my PowerBook using Melodyne Pro. I can work on the entire vocal arrangement. Once I'm done I export the files and dump them on my iPod. I then bring them back into the original session. Done. |

| Plugin works great here. Don't have to leave the app. Sound is GREAT, especially with halfway decent singers. Clark |

| it really depends what you want to do. they're actually very different beasts. you can achieve the same basic results with either in the pitch department only though each of these go beyond this in different ways. with melodyne you can also mess with time which is awesome for rephrasing and can be a real life saver. i found that tune deals with tuning a little more naturally and with better results. i'm going to do a shootout in the basic tuning department on a track that's quite old and will upload the result of that test done with both waves tune and melodyne. i normally stop when it's getting unnatural and live with the fact i couldn't get it perfect but for this test i'm going to take it to where i would prefer it and you can judge for yourself which performed better. i should have it done by the end of next week - sorry for the delay but it's christmas ;-) |
