Why did I get a sampling rate error?

Angry Why did I get a sampling rate error?
I recorded a long concert last week and I got a sampling rate error after 1.5 hours and totally botched the last four songs. I haven't told the client yet, but I know I'm screwed.

Gear: M-Audio 1814, Macbook, Tiger 10.4.11, 2ghz, 2gb RAM, Logic Pro 8, three simultaneous tracks at 24/48 onto the internal hard drive which is 160gb 5400 rpm.

What happened? Driver? Logic? Tiger? I need to avoid this in the future, and it seems to me I recorded long concerts before with older gear without any snafu, so I didn't expect this on new equipment. Should I get the Mbox 2 Pro? Are Digidesign drivers more stable, solidly integrated with PTLE and the proprietary audio interface?

v difficult to say from your description of the problem.
go into more details perhaps ??
did recording suddenly stop ? or you recorded for the full length but couldnt play back ?
do you see waveforms of the traks....? any error messages ?
the problem description is very terse.
my concern is mebe the files are sitting there on hard disc and retrievable somehow
rather than just giving up.
