Sample robot ("audio in" question)

I figure that only samplerobot users would be able to answer this question. So I am using a digidesign mbox, for the midi ins and outs to and from the module, and the audio out from the module into 1+2 on my mbox. When I click record it says "the selected audio device does not support the selected audio format" but I have it set at 16bit 44.1. Why does it say that?
