9652/adi 8dses and fireface 800 = 36 conversion channels ?

hi,

maybe lagerfeld (who i think has a similar setup like me) or somebody else may know if the following would work:

i have a dual g5 2,5 (QS 10.4.10, Logic 7) with rme 9652 running through some rme adi8-ds and the spdifs through some studer dat converters.
now as i have to buy a portable solution soon anyway (Macbook pro plus 8 channel conversion and preamp), what about getting a rme fireface 800 and use it in the studio for some additional 10 channels of conversion? would these 36 parallel channels work?
