logic effects tail

I don't know if this is normal or what...

I'm sequencing with my virtual instruments. I add some inserts like a delay. I press play, listen (the virtual instruments feeds the insert) and press stop. When I press stop all the effects stop too, this is cool. The problem for me is that when I press play again the effect tail that was stopped keeps on running again. Not because there's a new signal going into the insert... it's like the effect tail was simply paused and then resumed.

Do you know if there's any option to change this behavior?

I recently switched from cubase/windows/pc to logic and there the effects reacted as if you were working with hardware inserts.

This is an embarrassing reality in Logic and the number one screw up in my opinion. It's been that way for many years and no one seems to think it's a priority to fix it. The fact that they released Logic 8 without fixing this horrifying monstrosity makes me very very depressed.

and there's many other bugs much like this one that remain unfixed too! don't get me started! either the FX must stop completely or it should finish, that's that...having a choice would be better but no we're asking for way too much!!!!!!!!

As Long As we All Continue To support Logic by using it in it's buggy form, I am not sure much will change. I know they were rumors but I thought the program was going to be built from scratch off of new code.

I would think if anything like that had actually have been done, a number of known serious bugs should be gone.

I don't get many crashes with Logic 8, My buddy just had Logic dump the Bin on him in all versions of the song he was working on - no more audio. My crashes are less drastic, that is partly because I work to avoid sequences(what led to crash)that cause a crash in the past. I should not have to do that. I have been using Logic 8 and find it more stable. However, some of the older features that have been removed instead of kept or upgraded is unacceptable to me. The fact there is no plug in overview like audio configuration is just stupid. Now how do I quickly freeze only my UAD plugs or track down a plug causing problem in a 70 track mix. What benefit was there to a professional or ameture in getting rid of that screen? Wht can I only reset one channel strip at a time, when sessions from 7 clearly sound different in 8. Perhaps I would just like to zero the board out(Reset) and mix the track again. I am suppossed to reset a 70 channel mixer 1 Fuc8n channel at a time like a SSL!! What the Fu9k...........

WHY MUST LOGIC TAKE 1 STEP BACK FOR EVERY 2 FOWARD???????

absolutely! i get so frustrated that people defend logic all the time, the more they defend it, the less apple see people frustrated with it and so see no need to fix it.

i feel that them dropping the price tag means that we have less right to complain about the lack of features or bugs...i'd rather pay double the price and use XSKEY for a fully functional program with no bugs

Thanks for the info guys... this means no luck.

I'm learning to miss my old pc/cubase setup...

Just kidding, besides some stupid things like this one I'm pretty happy with logic 8. It's the first version I use and in a few hours I'm already rockin.
