Best Quality Arrange Window Timestretching in Sequencer Package

Hi Everyone.

I'm a long time PC Logic user that got left out in the cold....

since then i've been using Cubase LE (free with scard) and have put off buying a proper program.

The main thing for me atm is being able to bring in samples to the arrange window (my own as often as from records) and time timestretch em to fit.

Or to get the sequence to get it's tempo from a loop.

What is the Best for this?

I think Cubase's time stretching sounds utterly crap - has this been improved in C4.... heck even ACID sounds heaps better...

I'm a full on midi person so i'm guessing it's between Cubase, Logic Or Sonar?

lostinspace.
reaper has a new stretch facility.
in v2.0. called elastique.
as to whether it makes you happy.
try the demo (cockos.com) n peruse the user forums.

for midi you might also look at powertracks i use.
it has some unique features ive not seen in other midi sequencers.
for example check out the guitar fretboard or bass displays for midi as well as the piano display. and the interesting filtering options.
and the fact one can use a high ppqn.
lots of deep midifeatures in the app.
(demo at pgmusic.com.)

(ps..lol....a little secret..the aliens arent in our galaxy.
imho......if you draw a circle round earth. the distance is 3 billion miles away somewhere.)

Samplitude and it's Elastic Audio feature. Version 10 includes Audio Quantize. I saw a demo. Looks really quick and straight forward. Elastic Audio includes pitch correction if needed.

Sounds like a component of the identical name made by Zplane in Berlin. Alex Lerch gave me a Demo back in 2004 and it was quite impressive back then.

Cheers,

Sebastian

A lot of folks seem really impressed with Sonar's AudioSnap. (Multitrack AS in Producer and a single track version in Studio.)

I haven't had occasion to use it but a lot of the initial write-ups in the press were glowing. Of course, that's the damn press...

Thanks for all of your replies everyone,

Hey Diatonic,

thanks especially for posting your remix files, when i get a sec (no good sound on work pc) i'll have a good listen.

Is melodyne expensive?

sounds interesting, although i'd prefer to just have it automatically work in the arrange... but i guess if i'm still using hardware... than i'm used to putting in a bit more effort for that 5%extra in sound quality..

Powertracks sounds interesting... i keep on hearing about it...

Keep the suggestions coming... i'd be curious as to how c4 users feel about this.

Thanks

I have Samplitude V10, and the Audio Quantize is very good, fast, clean, and flexible.
