Soundcard just for headphones mixing, yes or no? I'm going to work on the road, programming beats and mixing ITB, using headphones only. I'm using a mac book pro and logic 8. Is it worth it to get a small soundcard (Apogee Duet for example), just for the purpose of making the headphones jack sound better? Or would that be overkill, considering I wanna keep my gear to a minimum in size and weight? Just how big is the difference?

Sorry bout the bump, just wanted to check again.. Anyone compared the MBP phones output with the one you get from a soundcard? Is it the difference big enough to justify getting a soundcard just for that purpose?

Rasmus Faber, I can't remember the exact names, but there were some relatively inexpensive "audiophile" devices for headphone out which attached via USB. They were around on eBay when I was looking. I also have a laptop here which has a clean, but sort of weak headphone circuit. George
