Region volume?

Hi. I`m new here and have a question. Is there such a function in L8? I have just gone from pc and cubase, and there you could set up fade ins and volume directly on the regions. This was a real timesaver for balancing choirs without using mixer automation. A workaround for this would be really appreciated.
Apart from me not knowing how to move tracks in the mixer and moving several tracks in arrange I`m really enjoying using it. The learning curve is not bad at all.

There is no direct "region volume" function, but if you turn on Hyperdraw and select Volume, you can draw volume curves that are tied to individual regions. You can do that from the local View menu on the Arrange.

As for setting fades, that can easily be done per region. Just select the region that you want, and in the Inspector, there will be a Fade parameter. Set it to whatever you want. There is also a Fade tool in the Toolbox that you can use to graphically draw fades, if you want.

The tracks in the mixer are keyed off of the order they appear in the ARRANGE window. On that window you can freely grab a track and re-order it at will.

The automation feature will really give you the control you need for the fades. You don't have to actually automate though - you can open the automation view, and then draw ramps and curves and pivot points without the audio playing at all - or have it play and manually control the knob.

You might also look into making multiple tracks be a part of a common group - for example a drum submix group - then you can change the level all at once by using any fader for that group.
