Thread Starter | What AU Compressors should I evaluate and buy?
Upgrading to a dual G5 and need to evaluate some of the best native AU compressors. What should I check out?

Another vote for Sonalksys - in my opinion, the best native compressor by miles. Second place the Waves Ren comp. Pete |

UAD-1 without a doubt. Great La2a, 1176, and Fairchild 670 emulations. Plus a bunch of really good eqs and reverbs etc.

sonalksis, cool, very cool. I'm going to check out the demo. I knew about Waves but I knew there had to be something else. Thanks. As far as other AU FX plugins, what else should I check out. I don't need reverb because I has Space Designer. |

None of them. They all suck. Save your money on a mac upgrade and by some outboard comps. |

I hear good things about the Sony and McDSP plugs. Problem is, I'm dumping tdm for native. I write/produce. I have an Xtramix and a Quartet that I track through. I will also add a FATSO or something else on that level for stereo signals. That's about all I need for the tracking I do. I do my own demo mixes and need more compressors. I'm hoping there are some AU plugs that can compete with the best of TDM. Outside of demos, I hire others with all the high end outboard toys and mixing skills far beyound my own. Quote:
