Any info on G5 powerbooks?

Hey folks

Has anybody out there heard of a time scale for the G5 powerbooks? I heard a whisper that they were having big problems with them over-heating but it could just be a crock of shit, the guy who told me is about as informed as George W is on politics and diplomacy.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

i haven't, but the over heating thing could easily be true. i know they had a huge problem with the G4's for a while, and i would bet the G5's run even hotter.

That is very true. I say they wouldnt be able to do it for another year. There were some rumors of water cooling for the G5 powerbook. Dont know how you use water cooling in a laptop. I dont really care about having a G5 laptop cuz they would never be what the desktops are. My 1.25 G4 still has a 167mhz front side bus where the G5's have 800mhz-1ghz. Good luck getting that into a laptop as well.

I think they solved the over heating thing already. Look at the new G5 servers. Very slim lined and small. They should have no problems.
