Midi/late nights/motu - help!

Please, somebody help!

Set-up: P4-2.6, MOTU 828mkII, Logic 5.3

I'm trying to get sounds from logic using midi. I've created a score for the Grand Piano and selected 828mkII as the device. That's as far as i know what to do.

I really need help! I've never used midi before, audio all the way, so any help would be very appreciated.

is the Grand Piano a real hardware synth or a soft ssynth or sampler ?

if it's a soft sampler (grand Piano) you would need to select the sampler as an output device and not the motu. assuming the midi data is already on a track in Logic.

otherwise if it's a hardware synth or sampler then you need the 828mkII's midi out to the unit of choice.
