How would you clock PT with Lynx/Apogee only?

... a Lynx Aurora 16 and an Apogee AD16x, both with HD cards.

We've tried several methods, but I'd be interested to see what most consider to be "the correct" one. The system only seems to work when the Lynx is the first interface, which works out because we need it to be #1 to have audition outputs work correctly.

Should I hang the Apogee off the expansion port of the Lynx or give it its own run to an accel card? Can I then clock from "interface #2 internal" with either configuration to get the C777 in the apogee? Do I need to connect wordclock, or does the Digilink cable cover this?

With almost everything we've tried, we either get random static pulses/clicks or else the Aurora takes a long time to lock to the clock (like over a minute).

With all these non-digi devices popping up, it's hard to figure out where to go for this type of setup information. I guess that's the price you pay for quality, eh?

Thanks for any tips...

Hi Dave,

HD2 with non-Digi AD/DA here.

I also have an Aurora 16. Connected to the first HD card.

My Apogee is a Rosetta 800. Connected to the 2nd HD card.

For clocking, I have a Big Ben.

I power the Big Ben first, then the Aurora, then the Rosetta.

Thanks.

Anyone running these devices specifically? Even in conjunction with anything else? I know there have been shootouts between the two.... how did you clock for those?

Since ideally, we'd like to clock from the Apogee, I guess I could boil the question down to this:

How do I properly clock from the Apogee with the Lynx positioned as interface #1 and Apogee #2 with regards to Digilink and BNC wordclock cables? Is it possible?
