Logic, it's Greek to me.

As a lifetime Pro Tools user who's been trying to learn Logic 8 over the last 12 hours, I've discovered the depth of my ignorance regarding midi, sequencing, and everything outside of the basic PT skill set. Despite the engrossing 1029 pages of manual, I feel like I'm missing something. Like a young pliable brain or a pile of Ritalin.

Can an old dog with ADD learn new tricks?

Anyone used the Apple Pro Training books? The Logic Pro 8 version is coming out on 10/31...

Amazon.com: Apple Pro Training Series: Logic Pro 8 and Logic Express 8 (Apple Pro Training): Books: David Nahmani

Hi!
Or, you could buy from PeachPit now, and use the discount coupon from your Logic Studio purchase! OK, so the book is released Oct 31, and you would not get it any faster, but it would be cheaper!!!

David is really good people, and has his own forums: Logic Pro Help, and knows Logic inside and out.

The advanced book comes out Nov 5.

MacProVideo.com helped me out a ton.

It's all about the key commands. In PT you're stuck with what they give you. But Logic lets you work the way you want to work. When you find yourself digging through menus... stop and check the key command window. When you find the function you're looking for, make a key command that you'll remember right then and there. Once you have a custom set of key commands that works the way you want to work (rather than how Apple guesses you might work) you'll be on track to mastering Logic.
