Thread Starter | If i had to pick one: Waves API or SSL bundle?
Hello gents, which one of the two bundles would you give priority to? I already own all URS plug ins and downloaded the waves API bundle demo.Loved the compressor on the master bus, i have to say. That is the reason i am debating between the SSL and API: i heard a lot of good things about the SSL comp on the master bus. Tried to demo the SSL bundle but for some reason it didn't authorize well on my ilok. So, considering that i am going to get both sooner or later, which one should i start with? thanks in advance for your help. |

SSL is my 1st choice. API are fine as well as well as the V Series.

well if i had a choice i would go with the ssl coz its a more versatile bundle, esp the channel strip. but considering you have all urs plugs, hmmm I must say I prefer the sound of the api eq over the ssl, its just my taste though. ssl to cut through a mix and api to add sheen to instruments. just look into what you dont have from urs, there is your answer

I own the ssl as well as a host of other eq plugs, i have the api demo and love it , I also demoed the urs channel strip pro. I am buying csp from tony belmont instead of the api for what its worth |

I have the SSL but not the API. If I hadn't yet bought either I'm pretty sure I'd go for the API, primarily for the compressor. That said, I get a lot of use out of the SSL channel and bus comp. The two bundles don't really compare directly when it comes to purpose and versatility, so it depends more on what you actually need. |

Thanks for the replies: mostly looking for great bus compression, which i heard from the API plug, but i haven't had the chance to demo the SSL bundle and it seems like i won't( authorization issues) . |

seems like you may have answered your own question. i would go with the API first, but you can't go wrong with either bundle. they are just different sounds, and which one you prefer is entirely subjective. the SSL bundle has the bonus of one of the best software gates available on the E-Channel... bottom line: both the SSL and API bundles offer what imo is the very best in software buss compression. i just like the API better.
