Input monitoring in Logic 8

I currently use Sonar which gives me the ability to switch software monitoring on and off on a track by track basis. This has proved to be immensely useful in conjunction with the DSP mixer on my soundcard, particularly for monitoring reverb with (practically) no latency whilst feeding back some comfort reverb when doing vocal overdubs on largeer projects.

I'll be buying a Mac and Logic in the next couple of months for composition work, and would like to know if the same thing is possible, or whether it's all or nothing.

Thanks for your insight.

If you are talking about about what I think you are talking about, then yes! You just enable input monitoring on each respective track!

Are you sure? As far as I know, the input button on each does something different. It needs software monitoring to be on to work, and disabling it won't allow direct monitoring (low latency) for that track. I'll double check this later, but from what I've heard, what Sonar does is way more advanced, and closer to what many Logic user have been wanting for years.
