Old Space Designer preset menu?

I love the old Space Designer menu that was divided by types of spaces or recommended instruments. Now it's just small room, medium room...

Any idea how to get the old menu back?

I just noticed the same thing. If you check in [STARTUP_DISK]\Library\Audio\Impulse Repsonses\Apple\05 Legacy Spaces, you'll see the actual IRs.

I actually tried manually hunting the presets down with no luck.

If you install L8 on a separate drive (or partition) the old L7 presets will still be in still in "L7 partition/Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/Space Designer"

If you copy this folder to the same place in the user library of your L8 partition, the old presets appear as a heading in the SD preset list...

Not sure if rhis works if you upgrade from 7 to 8 tho'...

I would love to go back to the old menu as well... There must be a way to make the old presets show up as legacy Logic presets or something like they do for the soft synths.

I had the old presets on another drive, and just dragged them into the new folder (Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/Space Designer) and they're in the pull-down menu now.

They must be on the Logic 7 install discs somewhere.

Were the version 6 impulse responses different (when there were all the veiled references to studio units like Hamamatsu, Lexington...)? I dragged those .pst files in too, and a dialogue came up asking to find the impulse response. I copied the Impulse Response files for those too and now they load fine, but wondering if they were just renamed or there was some legal action or something?

I was also suprised not to find them - especially as the SDIR files are there in a legacy folder.

I dug up my 7.2 discs and installed 7 on a Cube and copied the settings from there. And now I have the old settings again.

Alright, so I've found the old list of IR's still installed on my machine. I've put them in the folder with the new presets and they don't show up in the list. If I choose to select a new IR I can navigate to that folder and they are all available, but the plug-in settings menu doesn't show them.

What am I doing wrong?

What do mean by an old IR? If you mean the settings, put them in the user's folder (user/library/app support/logic/plug-in settings/space designer) - not in the presets folder. If you mean the SDIR files, leave them where they were and get the settings from a friend or by installing Pro 7 on a different machine and copy them from there.
