My XSkey is apparently not valid. Nice.

Was all giddy to install logic 8. Popped in my pro 7 XSkey to enable my upgrade. It said I wasn't eligible.

Ha. Logic user since version 5. Not eligible? God damn it. Anti-climactic BS!!!

So now I'm waiting for an email response from Apple. Anyone else have trouble like this?

didnt have that problem, and i've got the same original xskey. i was scared b/c i realized i'd left the key plugged in during the install of 8; thought that i'd erased it or something, but that was apparently not the case.

maybe try reinstalling but leaving your key plugged in during the install, if you did otherwise the first time around.

Someone from Apple called me direct this morning. Very impressive Apple!! Killer support.

Strangely enough, it worked today without any further assistance needed. Muh.

In LP7 once in a blue moon it wouldn't see my key. Then without changing a thing it would be happy again. I am betting it just happened to happen during the installation for you. Even though it was so rare it never presented a problem for me, I guess that's one less problem without the dongle.

I still like the ilock though. No having to worry about lose registrations when you get a new computer, have a crash, or just plain want to do a nice clean install of everything.
