What happened to force interleaved to split stereo?

I can't find this setting anywhere. Is it not possible to record split stereo files in logic anymore? I have it set to non-universal trackmode, but still it records interleaved files.
There used to be a box in general audio prefs that you could check or unckeck. It's gone...

For this I think your output object has to be a mono object.

That's he way it works in 7.
Has 8 fixed the way logic handles stereo? I really hate the single panpot. And it's annoying that you have to make two environment objects and two arrange tracks.

Amen. There's the "DirMixer" plug, but then you have to open a plug to see your panning settings!
