Looking for MAC VST Compressor w/Exernal Side chain

anyone know of any MAC VST Comp. w/external side chain. except for the Sonalksis SV-315 Mk2 Compressor or the Waves C1.

I was getting my hopes up for the URS stuff but it's only internal Sidechaining. Cubase 4 is not to kind to Side Chaining at this point and neither the Sonalksis or the Waves stuff is working to well right now. I'm only using the demo versions, but I'm not gonna dish out cash for something that won't work. Once I find a good sounding and working comp w/ext. SC, then I'll be more then happy to buy it.

The Waves C1 doesn't have external sidechain AFAIK.

The Sonalksis does however. A very cool compressor, just not for sidechaning unfortunately.

I use Logic's own compressor which has both external and internal sidechaining filters. You're after a VST one.. are you using Cubase on Mac?

yes I'm using cubase 4. I like the Sonalksis stuff, but it's giving me issues and crashing cubase. Hopefully this is fixed on C4.1. I'm setting the Comps up with the Quadro method.

This FabFilter Pro-C looks need, let's see how it sounds. Will check it out.

Tried downloading the db-audioware one last night, was having problems on the download of the demoe. Will try again today.

Seems like there isn't many options. thx for the suggestions.

The fabfilter compressor is very feature-heavy, but I don't think I could see myself coming to use it for day to day tasks. The sony oxford plugs run as VSTs natively now, and their dynamics plug allows sidechaining in Logic as an AU. Perhaps also as a VST? You might need to consult their website to check, but I'd reccomend this one every time - managed some good ducking effects with an external sidechain using it.

I thought the sidechain was only internal for the EQ. But reading the specs on their site it states:

"Channel Dynamics includes fully featured 2 Band side chain EQ which can also be used in signal path"

I'm taking this means you can use an external signal. The plus side is that I own a powercore and wouldn't mind adding this to it. Will download the demo and check it out.

thx

The URS CSP has an external sidechain feature. Though the internal one is insanely great. The best I've ever experienced in a plug.
