Logic Match EQ, dont know about compressors

i still would like to hear the technique for capturing EQ/Compressors tho. you talking about Q-clone?
Is this not what match eq does?

i guess that's one way to do it.

but from my experience, the match EQ has NEVER given me any usefulness in what it's supposed to do. on the other hand, "sampling" a crappy old 40-50's recording and applying it to recent sounds has yield interesting results.

Kind of but it doesnt account for phase shifts & time related atrefacts & 'smearing' due to slew rates etc - these all add to the recreation of 'character' ( ie 'character' is more than just frequency response - which is all match eq type plugs can achieve )

Impulses recreate frequency & phase response along with other time related characteristics ( they dont however recreate dynamic or nonlinear characteristics like compression, saturation or modulation - thats where dynamic convolution & volterra kernels come in )

You can make a IRs of EQs.

from the manual:
Imagine that you want to create an impulse response from your favorite tube
microphone pre-amp, allowing you to use its unique color on your audio. This way, you
can run a signal through this impulse response in Space Designer (set to 100% wet)
and add the color of your microphone pre-amp to your signal.

I was experimenting a bit with this utility today and tried to make a impulse response of my Massivo, but ended up 'sampling' my H8000. It sounded different, because it didn't sample the pitch-shifting and some other things happening - but it was very useable.

a couple of questions:
- if you have mono reverb unit, how do you make a stereo reverb impulse?
- somehow the impulse response utility wants to send out only one sinesweep channel, even if I want to make a stereo impulse file. I would like to make some free impulses for everyone, so what would be the right way to make a stereo impulse of my H8000fw?
- is the lexicon 480l a pure reverb unit or will it also do some other things that will make the impulses sound very different from the presets in the unit?

For the digital reverb it's best to go in and out digitally and use a spike, which is basically a single sample at full scale.

how to use some True Stereo file with space designer?

i have some samples from the Best service library Halls of fame, and i can't figure out how to use them.

i have 3 stereo file for each kind of reverb, one labeled C another L and another R

i suppose Center, Left, Right.

i think i have to use Center only for mono reverb and Left and Right for stereo.

but in each case, if i load a IR & int, i load one at time, always mono.

i have to be able to load the Left and the Right file in a stereo space designer, or the Center file in a mono space designer, i think. or i have to load all 3 stereo file in the same space designer?

how to do that? i have to use the IR utility?

i tried but i can just load one stereo file, and if i put true stereo and drag a file in the track space, it become a stereo SDIR but with only the Left stereo file for example
