How is the library?

Anyone already played around with it lots?

I heard for example that the included Orchestral Jam Pack is very good value for money / for a feature coming with a DAW. I used to work with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Silver, the smallest edition, to fill up my tracks with some string, brass and choir arrangements. Is the included stuff in Logic Studio comparable?

How about the rest? Is the library good enough to make stuff like Hardcore Bass XP or EZDrummer unnecessary? I actually don't expect it, but who knows...?

Loads of new samples, I had a brief play, sounds good, there are 1000's more samples.

Would the supplied sounds with the EXS24 and other instruments be good enough to replace say, Sampletank or Reason?

Not sure about Sampletank (never used it), but I haven't started up Reason since I've been using L8.

They sound pretty good to me, but the bread and butter of most of my tracks aren't synths (they're more icing on the cake).

What I really like is how easily I can navigate the content/synths/loops. I'm new to Logic this version, but I really can get up and arranging/composing quickly with this DAW.

I love it!

I can speak on Sampletank, and yes, the included sounds will suffice. Heck, you even get a Sitar in L8. ES2/ES-E, etc are definitely Reason replacements. To top it all off, you get a lot of track presets--effects included.

To the person who asked about EWQL Silver: If you're not actually playing the orchestral portions, the sounds are definitely good enough to use for hits and fx.

There are some nice Yamaha (C7?) and Steinway samples. I can't say that I'd play orchestral/jazz solos with these, but for most other things they should be fine.

If you're looking for a bright acoustic grand for pop, jazz, hip hop, and R&B, then I'd recommend buying the Vintaudio Yamaha C7. You'll need Kontakt for this though.

Haykoooo!

sorry to say but the strings and orchestral are not up there with east west stuff.
but very good for hiphop strings/orchestra (cause its lofi feel)

the bass is ok. and the drums well.. hmmm u can import your own samples as well.

the drum programmig is great in the new ultrabeat.

but i personally like the grooves in EZ drumer or EZ player free. which can be edited.
