Who mixes only on a laptop and what monitoring interface?

Im still beating myself to death over whether or not i should get a laptop.

Please state the manufacturer, DAW, any major problems, your interface, and how long youve been mxing on the laptop.

My sisters toshiba was sent out for repair because the right speaker just went out. So she got it back and the plastic case is snapped together all wrong so theres this huge angeled crack down the side. but she doesnt care. Shit like this though is whats keeping me from getting one.

If you want one just get one man. Just make sure that you find one that has the fastest CPU available unless you dont mind freezing tracks alot and slowing down your workflow.

I'd never do full mixes on laptop though, just pre mixes. Songs I work with typically range from 40-60 tracks, and Im use to slapping some type of channel strip plugin on each track which can get pretty taxing on a laptop with a weak CPU.

Take a look at a new Mac Book Pro. You cant really go wrong on that one. Then just hook it up with the new Logic Pro 8 DAW program and you're set.

Get an RME Fireface 800, Apogee Ensemble or Metric Halo 2882 and then you'll be set with the above config.
