I debating over grabbing an IBM server quad 450's p3 Xeons 2 gigs of ram and a bunch of 36 gig scsi 's . The scsi array will give me my big track counts live off the floor and have milti processing fom the 4 cpus . Plus the unit being pro server shouldl ast for years they don't break down . . I can also update the cpu's to XEON's P3 1 gig cpu's also . Plus also most likely be able to hot swap the drives as well. Runni scsi the controlercard runs the drives themselves sort t epower behind the thrown . This frees up the cpu's justt o do pure proccesing not having resources robbed from them to be doing other work . James ajmes |
