| WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE AU DELAY PLUGIN? I feel like i need a better delay plug than Logic's Tape Delay, i like it but demo'd the UAD Space Echo and it was stunning.. But a card hog and an effect i don't always use in a big way i wanted a good AU alternative to save my UAD cards for bigger tasks.. Anyone? Echoboy? PSP? Freebies? I have searched but the answers i found where not conclusive... Thanx. Zz.

| I think Logic's delays are the easiest to dial in and totally functional. Check out EchoBoy because it's SOOOOO much more than just a delay. OhmBoyz deley is cool, all of the PSP delays are excellent. There is no one great delay. I have Echoboy, PSP, OhmBoyz and Logic and I use them each for different things. Echoboy - I use more for fx than delay. It's an amazing distortion generator, and compressor, and filter, and modulation fx...It's a must have!!! PSP 608 is amazing for multi-tap-syncopated stuff. (so it EchoBoy) PSP Lexicon stuff are all really nice. OhmBoyz is cool for crazy filtery stuff Logic is the most fuctional...quick set and forget. The UAD Space Delay is super vibey too, just not too versatile.

| Logic's tape delay is very decent and if tweaked in the right way, can cover a lot of ground. I still prefer outboard delays, but Logic's aint bad at all. Not a tape delay AU as such, more of a bucket-brigade shade, but Dubstation by Audio Damage is a nice and dirty alternative to Logic's delay: http://www.audiodamage.com/effects/p....php?pid=AD006 Maybe that'll hit the spot? |

| Lives for gear | Echoboy by about a gazillion percent. IMHO it is the best plugin every made- it does what it is supposed to do better than any other plugin doing what IT is supposed to do. If you get what I mean. There are some plugins that sound like plugins. They sound like they are trying to replicate something else. Echoboy is different. It doesn't sound like a plugin- it just sounds like a delay.

| Echoboy +3 ...but you've really got to get down and dirty with the parameters to get the most out of it. In that respect, I think Logic is great - it's quick and intuitive. But for if you've got time to tweak, Echoboy wins every time. Never got a warm friendly feeling from the PSP Lexicon interface - it looks like it should be straightforward, but I always find myself going down deadends when I try to dial something in. Most probably me, not the plug.... And 608 definitely repays anytime spent learning how to make it work. |

| I'm quite happy with Logic Pro's tape delay and stereo delay. I hate messing with the crappy Waves SuperTap interface, it's quite frankly ****ed up.

| Personally my favorite delay plugin is ... Moogerfooger Analog Delay I always reach for that first! It doesnt use much CPU and already has many preset settings to start with then its up to you to tweak and change it to fit your work. |

| Yes, Logic's tape delay is excellent. FabFilter Software Instruments - FabFilter Timeless is also excellent but I have only used the demo version (30 days demo IIRC) May buy that if I feel I miss it.... |

| TAL-Dub You'll need VST to AU adapter for this, but It's free and sounds fantastic. VST TAL-Dub You should try their other plug-ins as well. They quickly became my first go-to's. Cheers |

| I've tried all the stuff people are posting about here either through demos or buying. But the MFM2 by u-he is just amazing http://www.u-he.com/ Like his other stuff (Zebra, Filterscape) MFM2 has better sonic quality than most plugs out there. It's one of the few native plugs that can compete with the UAD stuff in terms of sound quality. |

| I do like the sound of the PSP 84, though I agree with reid that the interface is a bit frustrating at times. This seems to be a problem of delay plugs in general, though. I wish UAD or somebody would emulate the classic 80s digital delays like the Roland SDE1000 or Deltalab Effectron 1024. They worked great for a lot of purposes, & were so easy to use. |

| Logic's tape delay, PsP 608 and PsP 84 are my favourite delay plugins ever. especially the 608. Very definable (is that the right word). I've been trying to get into Logic's Delay designer recently but can't get anything particularly beautiful out of it.
