Assign Midi Controls In PT LE

I haven’t used any control surfaces in PT LE yet, just Reason. In Reason it is as easy as right clicking and assigning, but PT LE is a lot more complicated as far as I can tell. For example, is there a way to click the mute button and assign a midi control to it? Is there a way to do this in virtual instruments such as Albino 3.0? I know people do this but I haven’t been able to figure it out. I am not one to make whole setups of dozens of parameters, I usually just assign the parameter that I am recording at that time to the type of midi control that makes the most sense, and automate.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Also, if I am choosing a parameter I want to automate in a virtual instrument, is there are way to click the knob on the screen and find out what it is called in the Auto menu? In Albino there are literally hundreds of abbreviated names for the controls and I can’t find the one I am looking for half the time.<o:p></o:p>

I don't think there's a way to assign generic midi cc data to any built in automation within PT LE. You need a dedicated controller that will send hui emulation data or the procontrol 24. You can however send cc data to virtuals. In albino click on the ECS button then the parameter you want to automate. Then turn the knob. slider or button you want to use.
