Thread Starter | How powerful is a Core 2 duo 7300 laptop processor Hello, I am thinking of getting a laptop : it would be with an Intel Core 2 duo 7300 processor and 2 GB of ram. I am currently working on a AMD 64 4000+ desktop, and I would like to know if I will get more power on the laptop. How many instance of plugs can it support simultaneously with this kind of processor ? ? ? I would love to hear your comments and experience. Thanks Sergio |

| sergio. theres no perfect answer to your question of how many plug ins. seriously. cos it depends how much pc resources each plug in uses. some plug ins that i use are not resource hogs. but other people use plug ins that can severly tax a system. particularly with lots of instances. thus u wont get a definitive or perfect answer on this. thus the best solution is for you to run tests on the laptop u choose before purchasing the laptop useing your projects and plug ins. this will give u the ability to assess properly. i dont want to push reaper on you, butone reason i like it is it will give u an indication of resource useage of plug ins. so u can see which plug ins are consuming lots of resources. (demo at cockos.com.) good luck.

Thread Starter | Could someone told me what would be the core 2 duo 7300 equivalent, in a desktop with an AMD processor ? ? I went to the computer shop and the seller told me, it should be like an AMD 4000 X2 power. I was surprised and thought it would have been more powerful. Would a core 2 duo 7500 bring me to another upper level ? I mean, Is there a lot of power difference between a 7300 and a 7500 , or just minor improvment ? ? . Thanks |
