| Lives for gear | Cubase: Automation lines to produce wah-effect? Is there any way to use automation lines in C4 to control the Wah plugin and simulate a wah pedal type sound? (as if it were being pushed in and out)? |

| Lives for gear | Did you try, writing the automation info and then hitting "R" to make cubase read what you have written? to write you must have "W" on and thenturn it off and then hit "R" to read, read the manual

| Gear maniac | Add a Controller lane to the FX Channel and you will be able to access/automate the parameters you want |

| In Pro Tools I have done something sort of like this this by automating the frequency of a mid boost EQ band. You mess with the Q and boost etc. and maybe add a high and low pass filter and then try it by moving the frequency back and forth by hand until it sounds about right, then you can automate the frequency to go with the beat etc. Good luck! |

First insert the plug that you want to automate Set up an automation lane. This is accomplished in the section immediately to the left of the waveforms in edit screen with the track title and other control/buttons in it. Press the tiny '+' symbol near the bottom left hand corner of this section. This opens an 'automation lane' On the left side of the automation lane is an area that contains the automation title Click on the title and a drop down list appears, choose 'more' at the bottom of the list an 'Add Parameters' box appears - click on the little '+' symbol right next to the folder that says 'Inserts' from the list in the window From there the names of all the plugs inserted on this channel will appear. Once again click the little '+' symbol beside the name of the plug in that you want to automate A list of all the controllable parameters will appear Click on the parameter you want to automate and than press the 'OK' button at the bottom righ hand side of the 'Add Parameters' window This lane will now allow you to automate your chosen parameter ![]()

| Lives for gear | hmm, I did everything you said but I have no Inserts in the Add Parameter box... just Volume/Mute/LinkedPanner/+Standard Panner/+Sends/+EQ |
