Thread Starter | Outboard gear latency in Pro Tools LE
When I insert an outboard compressor via ADAT into Pro Tools 7.3, it tells me the sample-delay is only 6, but I figure it has to be in the 1000's or above. Is there a way to figure out what the figure should be? In Cubase SX3 it's around 48.something milliseconds.

that sounds right to me... Protools is probably accounting for the DA/AD... There isn't significant latency in analog gear. |

But if I Alt-H it "Before" 6 samples, it's still out of phase...

I tried placing signal tones 1 sample apart, but I kept getting a "DAE Error:Selection is too dense near selection." So I recorded a tone onto a separate track and tried to get in as close as possible to determine how far apart they were. 3159 or 3160 samples sound good enough to me
