Logic plugins vs Waves for TDM...?

hi all... i'm a logic user running on PT HD hardware. need to buy some "everyday" plugins to use on my TDM tracks (the basic digi plugs don't let me do enough and don't sound great).

my main need is EQ - i'm trying to keep my mix compression and reverb out of the box. i also master out of the box so don't really need limiting.

i'm comfortable with the Logic plugins and likely to buy the Epic TDM package. but before i spend the $800 or so -- can anyone give me a general notion of how competitive the Epic TDM versions are with Waves' and/or McDSP's stuff? I don't see a lot of recommendations for the emagic plugs among PT users, but then again, they're not really marketed, so maybe it's understandable....?

thanx

Logic´s channel EQ is not bad (is it even included in EPIC?).
My favorite TDM EQs are FilterBank and the Sony EQ.
I haven´t heard the MDW yet, though.

If you want a good allround EQ go for FilterBank.
It´s great and DSP use is very light.
And Colin´s support is the best (argh, when he finally comes out with the new bugfixed version... ;-) ).

And beware: EPIC is not supported anymore.

emagic dropped the Host TDM Enabler, too.
I don´t quite get why they did that instead of putting it in the Logic Pro package with all the other stuff.
Dropping a product helps nobody.
And I doubt anybody is buying EPIC and HTDME now that they won´t be supported and are still relatively expensive as "old stock" in stores.

And talking bout emagic: they should get those f**king bugs out of Logic!!!

I cant comment on the TDM stuff, however i would say the logic plug's will get the job done. They aren't among the best plugs by any stretch of the imagination but they are definetly usable. I'll second comment regarding the channel EQ as well

Peter,

Sorry a bit off thread, but that is what I had in mind, upgrade to Logic Pro, and see if I can get an old HTDM enabler off the shelf somewhere. I just so much prefer running everything inside TDM, since ESB is really only a tease to anyone seriously trying to integrate native into TDM. But I am very nervous at the moment when I consider how much EXTRA money I have payed Emagic in the past to integrate with PTHD, and these strange Emaplle tactics going on at the moment. The silence is killing me.

Back on topic, I would like to add Emagic Channel EQ is one of the best native EQs I have heard. The concept of the interface is also excellent, but butt ugly like many Emagic plugin designs.

For me though theeee best Digital EQ is the Massenburg for TDM. You just cant get it to ever sound bad no matter how much you push or pull (I have never had that perception before with a digital EQ even the Sonys)
