ive been a hardware guy for years and im fianly goin to try gettin into vsts .......my friend is copying like 250+gigs of vsts and just thousands of dollars in sounds for me ....because he wants me to produce for his label.... i want to get a hard drive just for this sound library only.......ive run a couple usb externals before and i could always notice a difference in response compared to an internal drive......... i have a brand new hp amd athelon 4800 with 2 gigs mem....a gig of cache and a gig of bus........is there gonna be a difference if a get an external via firewire or if i get an internal in terms of response time...........ive used hardware for years because i couldnt stand dealing with loading and latency and all tha "setbacks" i dealt with using software....so i want my work flow to be as quick and efficient as possible im a musician and i really like to move at tha speed of my fingers .............help me out here guys and give me a little feedback on your opinions

In order of efficiency and performance for audio. 1. SATA or Internal (no diff... no hit) 2. Firewire 3. USB You'll take a hit on Firewire or USB but moreso on USB for audio.

is it firewire because if it is your good firewire is better and if its 7200rpm it will transfer files fast.
